Need to check on the status of an application? You try using DEP’s “Dataminer” application. Dataminer taps into the Departments database where we keep track of all applications. It provides the status of any application and is updated as that status changes.
- Go to Dataminer by using the following link: https://njems.nj.gov/DataMiner/
- Under “Search Options” on the right of the screen, choose the first button: “Search by Site”
- On the “Search by Site” page, there are 4 tabs: “Location”, “Name”, “ID” and “Advanced”. Choose the “ID” tab.
- On the “Search by ID” tab under “Search Criteria”, for “Program” choose “Land Use” from the drop down menu. For “ID” choose the file number that was assigned to your application.* Click on the “Program Interest” radio button, then click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. This should bring up the record for the file number you entered.
- Using the dropdown menu in the “Reports” column at the right of the record, choose “Land Use Activity”, then click on the arrow to the right. This should bring up the activity record for that application. Please note that there may be multiple pages. If there are, you can toggle between them using the page menu at the top of the page.
- If you want a record of the activities for this application, you can download them as a PDF or Excel file using the “Export as” function at the top right of the page.
* The application number is the 14 digit file number (example: “1300-06-0001.1”) assigned to every application when it first comes into the Division. If you don’t know your application ID number, you will have to use the “Advanced” tab instead of the “ID” tab for your search and use your block, lot, municipality and county to find the record.
The DEP Bulletin is the source for all DEP public notice on applications. Applications that require a 30 day public comment period will not have a decision issued on that application until a minimum of 30 days after the application has been accepted and notice has been published in the Bulletin.
