Let’s Go Fishing! Cooper River Park, Pennsauken Township, NJ

About the Program: Join NJDEP Fish & Wildlife staff and volunteers for a hands-on workshop that includes everything you need to know to get started! Participants, 18 years and older, will learn fishing basics including: fish biology; how to set up equipment; safety practices; bait and tackle choices; how to cast; and fishing regulations.

This workshop is open to new or inexperienced anglers and those who may be interested in getting back into fishing. The program begins with classroom type instruction. Participants will put their new skills to practice with a fishing experience and leave the workshop with the knowledge and confidence to head out fishing on their own.

Workshop Fee: Free. All bait, tackle and equipment will be provided.

  • Registration is required. Participants are selected on a first come, first served basis.
  • You must be 18 years or older and have a valid 2023 NJ Freshwater Fishing license to participate in the workshop.
  • *NJ Residents, aged 70 and older do not need a fishing license, but can create a CID# or retrieve an existing CID# for free by following the instructions above.
